INSTITUTE OVERVIEW
The purpose of the Federal Services Institute (FSI) is to focus on Federal contracting opportunities in the support services area. This requirement comes out of the recent Federal budget reductions and their impact on the Federal contracting community, Federal insourcing requirements, recent barriers to Federal public-private competitions and outsourcing, renewed interest in buyouts and other placement imperatives, and the increased need for effective contract oversight & staffing. The Federal Government’s downsizing brings new challenges to the agencies to meet mission requirements and to contractors seeking to respond to those requirements through new ways to provide services by using alternative partnership models.

INSTITUTE MISSION
The Federal Services Institute provides a common forum for Council members interested in legislative, regulatory and policy developments related to the use of public-private partnerships, competitions and the development of business opportunities in the areas of Federal operations, maintenance, analytic and administrative support services.
